Prokacheva, V., Kazakov, A., Uhlík F., Planar brush In this year, we extended our study of planar brush using the Molecular Dynamics modeling and the SF-SCF calculations. We showed that one linear chain grafted into the brush made of the second generation dendrons can occur a coil-“flower” transition not only with changing a grafting density of dendrons but also with changing its length. Overall results are plotted in two diagrams of the linear chain states in coordinates of chain length and dendrons grafting density (see Figure 1). The results of both methods show a similar tendency: the region of coexistence of the two-state coil and “flower” of the linear chain becomes wider with a decrease the grafting density of the dendrons. Varvara Pokacheva, Oleg Rud, Filip Uhlík, We compare the behavior of weak and strong PEs through a variation of pH and salinity of the solution. The collapsed PEs at the low salinity and swollen at the high salinity are observed. The possibility of weak PEs to redistribute charged groups leads to a different behavior than for strong ones with the same overall degree of dissociation. In the case of the weak PEs side-chains separate into two groups forming a core of uncharged collapsed side-chains along the backbone and a shell of stretched charged side-chains. The strong PEs exhibit no such bimodality in the polymer units distributions. That phase separation of polymer chains into several populations is the general feature of all branched PEs. Varvara Pokacheva, Oleg Rud, Filip Uhlík, The effect of salinity on the structure of pH-sensitive PE stars at the poor solvent shows different behaviour in the region of low salt concentration unlike non pH-sensitive one (strong PE). When the size of the star increases with increasing of salinity what we do not observe in the case of strong PE. It was shown using the numerical Scheutjens-Fleer Self-Consistent Field method based on lattice model. [Jiný výsledek]
