The 4EU+ European University Alliance brings together eight comprehensive, research-intensive, public universities from four regions of Europe to strengthen the European vision of deepened cooperation and mutual enrichment by developing a new quality of cooperation in teaching, education, research and administration, leading to the creation of a truly integrated European University System.

A total of 36 European Universities alliances, including the 4EU+ Alliance, will come together at the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 8 to 11 September 2026.

The small community of Edolo, a village of just under 5,000 inhabitants in the province of Brescia in the Italian Alps and headquarters of the “Mountain University” of the University of Milan, hosted 40 students and faculty members participating in the 4EU+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Climate Change Adaptation, Nature-Based Solutions and Local Development Trends”.

Artificial intelligence is transforming public administration across Europe, creating new opportunities while raising fundamental questions about transparency, accountability and the role of human decision-making. Addressing these questions was at the heart of a 4EU+ mini-grant collaboration, which has now resulted in a new special issue exploring these challenges from multiple legal perspectives.
