Ustinova Kseniya. The disordered N-terminus of HDAC6 is a microtubule-binding domain critical for efficient tubulin deacetylation. The Journal of biological chemistry, 2020, sv. 295 (9), s. 2614–2628. ISSN 0021-9258. IF 4.106. [Článek v časopise]
A crosstalk between the MBD (microtubule-binding domain) and the catalytic domains is critical for recognition and efficient deacetylation of free tubulin dimers both in vitro and in vivo. The N-terminal domain increases HDAC6 deacetylase activity against free tubulin by more than 100-fold. These findings show the critical role of domains outside the catalytic core in the modulation of HDAC6 deacetylase activity. It may lead to new strategies in the selective inhibition of substrate deacetylation by HDAC6.

Ustinova Kseniya, I took part at the fourth COST-sponsored ARBRE-MOBIEU plenary meeting. It took place on February 24-26, 2020 in Prague, Czech Republic. The programme was focused on Multi-level biophysics: from single-molecule to higher-order cellular assemblies, New optical and spectroscopic tools to study events at cellular level, Molecular biophysics integrative approaches. I was awarded the price for the best talk. [Jiný výsledek]
Ustinova Kseniya, I presented my work at Online EMBO/EMBL Symposium - Microtubules: from atoms to complex systems, 3-6 June 2020, Heidelberg, Germany. This is an important meeting that unifies the community and brings together researchers from different disciplines interested in microtubule research. It was mainly focused on structural determinants of microtubule formation, control of microtubule dynamics, microtubules in cell division and cilia formation / function. [Jiný výsledek]
Ustinova Kseniya, Conferences: The EMBO Young Scientists Forum (EYSF) was held 27th – 28th June 2019 in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting covered topics such as cell biology, structural biology of the CRISPR/Cas system, organ development, in vivo imaging, bacterial pathogenesis, and aging. I was presenting the short talk and the poster. The Reversible Protein Acetylation in Health and Disease Conference was held 4th – 9th August 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference was mainly focused on the structure, functions, mechanisms, and regulation of HDACs, sirtuins, bromodomains, and Lys acetyltransferase. I was presenting the short talk and the poster. Conference, EMBO | EMBL Symposium: Microtubules: From Atoms to Complex Systems EMBO | EMBL Symposium: Microtubules: From Atoms to Complex Systems was held in Heidelberg, Germany, 27-30 May. The aim of this symposium was to gather all science contributions to the microtubule field in recent years. The microtubule cytoskeleton, essential for a wide variety of cellular functions, such as chromosome segregation, directed vesicle and organelle transport, cell motility and cell polarity was the main topic of the conference. Impaired microtubule function can lead to human diseases including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. [Jiný výsledek]
Conference, XV Discussions in Structural Molecular Biology The conference "XV Discussions in Structural Molecular Biology" was held in Nove Hrady, 22-24 March 2018. The conference had broad scope of topics covering such techniques as paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy, cryoEM, SAXS, MST, etc.I was awarded the prize of the Czech Society for Structural Biology for outstanding student presentation.
