German Language Course Taught in English Organized by Department of Languages and Medical Terminology, Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. In the winter semester of 2025/26, the Department of Languages and Medical Terminology is organizing a German language course taught in English for our faculty students.

Note: The course is meant to be taken by the English curriculum students only since it will be instructed in English.

We invite all those interested in our course to attend an information meeting during the first week of the winter semester, where basic information about the course (class times, student requirements, and course content) will be provided. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2025, at 4:45 p.m. in room 515, 5th floor, building X.

Language requirements for the course: at least advanced knowledge of English (the language of instruction) and at least (pre-)intermediate knowledge of German (enrolment in the course can be discussed with the department).

The course focuses on medical language, specialized terminology and communication with patients.

Number of students in a group: at least 5 students, 12 students at most (in case of a higher number of applicants, parallel groups may be formed).

Teaching: 2 hours/week, i.e. 26 hours/semester (October 2025–January/February 2026)

Course fee: CZK 4,000/semester

Classes will be held according to a set schedule agreed upon with the students.

Expected start date: 2nd week of the semester
