International Conference on PsychobiographyWe are pleased to invite you to the first International Conference on Psychobiography, which will take place at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, on September 22nd and 23rd 2026. This pioneering event will bring together leading international scholars specializing in psychobiographical research, providing a unique platform to present, exchange, and critically discuss new contributions in the field of contemporary interdisciplinary approaches. We welcome submissions focusing on case-based analyses of historically significant individuals, methodological innovations in psychobiographical research, ethical considerations in psychobiography, the historical development of the psychobiographical approach, as well as emerging trends in the field. Our keynote speakers are two prominent representatives of contemporary psychobiography: Dr. Zoltan Kovary (Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary), who will present the phenomenological and hermeneutic foundations of psychobiographical methodology, and Prof. Claude-Helen Mayer (University of Johannesburg, South Africa), who will address the application of modern methods within psychobiographical research. The conference will feature a main section for active academics and a student section for Master’s and Doctoral students engaged with psychobiographical topics. Psychologists, historians, and scholars from related humanities and social science disciplines interested in exploring the psychobiographical approach are also warmly invited. Given the unique nature of this event, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to discussions on the status of psychobiography within the academic field, the current directions of psychobiographical research, and the assessment of contemporary trends. Attendance will also facilitate networking and the development of future collaborations, helping to shape the field for years to come. We look forward to your participation! Conference timeline
