Relating language curricula, tests and examinations to the Common European Framework of Reference (RELANG)

A three day workshop for educators of foreign language teachers of all levels (as well as other professionals in the field of language education in Czechia) will offer a unique opportunity to reflect on their practices in the area of assessment and testing in connection with the CEFR. The workshop will be led by the authors of the RELANG Project, which was developed – and is being further implemented – in cooperation between the European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe (ECML/CELV) and the European Commission. The goal is tobintegrate as many of the approaches and possibilities offered by the CEFR Companion Volume (2020) into assessment as possible, not only for receptive and productive skills and activities but also for the increasingly (re)discovered area of mediation. Participants will work with the CEFR descriptors, create their own assessment materials, discuss assessment activities and rating scales, explore learner involvement in assessment, and share other tips from their own practice. The working language of the workshop is English, but educators of various languages will form an integral part of the working group. The workshop’s plurilingual environment is one of its unique features.
