Nu come first, and their translation into graphs was rather a pleasant aftertaste. This appro changing in recent decades. Since Edward Tufte's influential publications on visualization scientific community has come to realize that data visualization is not only crucial for t communication of scientific conclusions, but also a powerful tool in its own right for exp and generation of knowledge. The seminar will introduce selected general principles of eff visualization as well as specific applications on illustrative examples such as "how to do The aim of the seminar is to present data visualization as a scientific subdiscipline that available software, deserves increasing space in everyday scientific work. After the initial presentation of the principles, we will focus on the concept of "grammar introduced by Leland Wilkinson in the book of the same name. We will quickly move from thi its most famous implementation, which is the ggplot2 library (Hadley Wickham) written for statistical language R. Participants will be introduced to work with this software. The am course is to raise students' interest in the efficient, extremely flexible and relatively data visualization offered by the ggplot2 library. Students will also take away a large am available materials for further self-study. Tutor: Mgr.
