CTM Autumn 2021: YOUTH AND CITIZENSHIP: BUILDING EUROPEAN VALUES IN THE TIME OF COVID-19

The Faculty of Education at Charles University, in cooperation with partner organisation Children’s Identity Citizenship European Association (CiCea), is implementing a prestigious international project. It is an Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Network focused on citizenship and values education titled Citizenship Education in the Context of European Values.

As part of the project, the conference CTM Autumn 2021: "YOUTH AND CITIZENSHIP: BUILDING EUROPEAN VALUES IN THE TIME OF COVID-19" takes place online on 21st and 22nd October 2021.

The keynote speaker of the conference is Dr. Ondrej Lansky, Head of Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy, with a keynote lecture on the topic “Social Cohesion and Populism: Selected Topics in Civics for the 21st Century”. Panelists are Prof. Bryony Hoskins (UK), University of Roehampton, UNESCO and Council of Europe, Dr. Dan Moxon (UK), director of People, dialogue change, and Sandra Rizzo (UK), research manager of Growing Up under Covid-19 project. The professional public is invited to take a part in the public part of the conference.

The project involves 28 universities from 19 different countries and 78 researchers of various specialisations, from experienced academics to Ph.D. students. The Network has the ambition to become a platform for knowledge sharing and cooperation of experts in the field of citizenship and values education, to which it wants to bring current elements and trends. The outputs of the project should contribute to increasing the quality and innovation of teaching in this area. Charles University is the coordinator of the entire international expert network. This project was prepared at the Department of Pre-primary and Primary Education under the leadership of its head and an external project manager. Project is co-funded by EC - EACEA as a part of the Jean Monnet Network.
