Former Vice-President of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI)

Awarded the Felix Klein ICMI Award in 2013 for her lifelong research achievement and the Luis Santalo Medal in 2014 for her contribution to the development of mathematics education in Latin America.
