We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the 24th round of the Charles University Grant Agency for 2027 has been announced. The call for proposals was issued by way of Rector’s Directive No. 30/2026. Applications for new projects may be submitted on a rolling basis, starting on 1 October 2026. Project applications may only be submitted by students currently enrolled on standard doctoral and master’s programmes and must be submitted to the Science and Research Administration Department of the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, exclusively in electronic form via the GA UK web application.

An international team of scientists led by Pavla Tichá, a Czech doctor from the Department of Plastic Surgery of the Third Faculty of Medicine and Královské Vinohrady University Hospital, has discovered one of the mechanisms that enables tumour cells to evade the immune system and form metastases. The results of the study, published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications, show that the NCOR2 protein plays a key role in this process. The discovery provides new insights into how cancer spreads throughout the body and opens up new possibilities for the development of targeted anti-cancer treatments.

Buddy programme connects local and international students at Charles University. The local student, "buddy", is a volunteer who is a guide and friend to an international student. Buddies help international students with an orientation in the new environment, take care of necessary formalities at the beginning of their stay and share what the Czech Republic has to offer.
