12th Prague Security Conference

On November 4, 2016, the National Technical Library hosted the 12th  annual Prague Security Conference “Science – Research – Innovations – Education A key to the prosperity and security of EU, Czechia and Slovakia“. The conference has traditionally been organized by the Center for Security Policy, IPS, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. The conference was attended by more than two hundred participants.

The Limits, Dilemmas and Challenges of European Security in Uncertain Times

We present to you an analysis of EU security challenges "The Limits, Dilemmas and Challenges of European Security in Uncertain Times" in the new issue of Central European Journal of International and Security Studies written by Head of the Center for Security Policy Miloš Balabán.

Launch of the book Global Nuclear Disarmament

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek and team of the Center for Security Policy celebrated a launch of the book Global Nuclear Disarmament: Strategic, Political, and Regional Perspectives (Routledge Global Security Studies). Editors of the publication are Nik Hynek (Metropolitan University Prague; Institute of Political Studies, FSS, Charles University) and Michal Smetana (Center for Security Policy, IPS, FSS, Charles University). The celebration took place at Karolinum, on March 11th 2016.


Federica Mogherini in Prague

Joint debate with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, and Lubomír Zaorálek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, took place in Prague, on January 11th. The debate with topic 'The Future of Europe in an Interconnected World', was introduced and moderated by Miloš Balabán, Head of the Center for Security Policy, IPS FSS CU.

The conference has traditionally been organized by the Center for Security Policy, IPS, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic. The conference was attended by more than three hundred participants.
